- Use quotation marks when directly quoting from an article. Changing a word or two is not paraphrasing.
- Read every part of an article, not just the abstract or conclusion.
- Read faculty feedback on previous work.
DON"T
- Only use references from an article as these are secondary sources.
- Use Google to start searching unless you are looking for the name of a theory or proper spelling of a person's name.
- Instead... use databases from the home tab in this guide and meet with the librarian about how to get the most out of Google Scholar
