The Blue Yeti should always be in a straight, perpendicular position from the surface it is resting on. It is not necessary to angle the microphone in the direction of the person talking.

There are four buttons on the Yeti:
Mute/Unmute - choose when the microphone picks up audio or does not, when muted the light on this button will flash on and off
Volume Control - used when the microphone is being used as speakers, increases or decreases audio levels
Gain Control - determines how much audio the microphone takes in, the farther to the right will increase take in
Pattern Control - determines what parts of the microphone are active and where the audio is picked up by the microphone
