Wireless Microphone

Great for: recorded presentations, live streamed presentations, and broadcasting.

Microphone (HXD1) Controls

Status Indicator: 

This LED displays the mode of operation

  • Amber light signifies normal operation.
  • Flashing amber light signifies Pairing/Low Battery.

Power/Pair Switch:

  • To Power On, press button for less than 5 seconds.
  • To Pair, press and hold button for more than 5 seconds to enter pairing mode.

Battery Cover:

  • Unscrew cover and pull down to access battery compartment.

Gain Control:

  • Used to adjust the transmitter input sensitivity.

Screwdriver:

  • Used to adjust the input Gain control.

Battery Holder:

  • To open, press tab and lift cover to access/replace batteries.

RXD2 Controls

Line/Headphone Output (3.5mm jack) : 

  • Use when connecting to an analog line input or headphones for monitoring.

Status Indicator:

This LED displays the mode of operation

  • Amber light signifies normal operation.
  • Flashing amber light signifies Pairing.
  • No Light signifies the device is not Paired; the Transmitter is out of range; no power.

Pair Switch:

  • Press and hold for longer than 5 seconds to enter Pairing mode.

USB Connector:

  • Plugs into the USB jack of the audio device you are using.

Getting Started

Basic Setup

  1. Plug the Wireless Receiver (RXD2) into the USB jack on a wireless-enabled Samson device, or to an available USB port on a computer.
  2. Check that there are a set of AA batteries in the microphone's battery holder.
  3. If using a Samson device, turn the wireless level knob on the device completely counterclockwise before you power it on.
  4. Turn on the Wireless Receiver by pressing and holding the Power switch, the LED will light amber.
  5. If the Microphone and Receiver have not been previously paired:
    •  First press and hold the "Pair" button on the Receiver for 5 seconds, or until is starts to flash.
    • Then, press and continue to hold the Power button on the Microphone until the LED indicators on both units lights steady.
  6. Speak or sing in the Microphone at a normal performance level and raise the input level on the audio device until at desired level.
  7. If you are hearing distortion, turn down the input on the audio device. 
    • If you still continue hearing distortion, use the screwdriver supplied to adjust the Gain Control in the Wireless Microphone, turning it slowly counterclockwise until the distortion is gone.
    • Conversely, if you are hearing a weak, noisy signal at desired volume level and the wireless level control of the audio device is set to max, use the screwdriver, turning it clockwise, until the signal reaches an acceptable level.

Computer Setup

For Windows:

  1. Plug the Wireless Receiver (RXD2) into a USB port.
  2. To set as default input/recording device or to change its settings:
    • Open the "Control Panel" on your computer/laptop and select "Hardware and Sound" settings.
    • Select "Sound". A smaller window will pop-up. In this window, locate and select the tab labeled "Recording".
    • Under "Input," select the (Samson RXD wireless receiver) and then select the "Set Default" button.
    • To adjust the Gain of the microphone, locate and select the "Properties" button and then select the "Levels" tab.

For Apple Mac OSX:

  1. Plug the Wireless Receiver (RXD2) into a USB port.
  2. Open "System Preferences" from the dock or Apple Menu and select the Wireless Receiver (RXD2) as the computer's audio input.
  3. Next, open "Sound Preferences", select the "Input" tab, and then choose the (Samson RXD Wireless Receiver).
    • To adjust the Gain of the microphone, move the "Input" volume slider at the bottom of the "Sound" dialog box. 

Connecting to Line Input*

*Note: The wireless microphone can work with any audio gear that accepts a line input, i.e. mixer or portable PA system.

  1. Plug the Wireless Receiver (RXD2) into a standard 5 Volt USB adapter and plug the adapter into an AC outlet.
  2. Turn the volume on the input channel you are connecting the microphone to all the way down.
  3. Use a 1/8" (3.5mm) cable, connect the Wireless Receiver (RXD2) Line/Headphone output to the line input on your audio device.
  4. Power on the Wireless Microphone by pressing and holding the "Power" button, the LED indicator will light up amber.
  5. Speak or sing in the Microphone at a normal performance level and raise the input level on the audio device until at desired level.

Connecting to a Smartphone*

*Note: Once connected to smartphone, you can connect headphones to the 1/8" (3.5mm) Headphone Output to monitor the wireless signal.

For iPhone or iPad Users: you will need to use the Apple Lightning to USB Camera adapter to connect the Wireless Receiver.

For Android Users: you will need to use a Host OTG adapter to connect the Wireless Receiver.
